Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the independent provider that operates that tool. Union County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy controls its receipt and handling of the submitted query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the message and supplied contact details as needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and service records can collect technical details when a page loads. Those details may include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device class and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring site, when one is supplied; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and support site functions. A visitor can block or delete cookies through browser settings. Some tools or page features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Supports the Site
Collected information is used for limited operating purposes:
- keeping pages available and responsive;
- sending a requested search to the correct partner;
- understanding which Union County topics visitors use;
- detecting and correcting errors or abuse; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Other Websites and Services
Union County pages link to sheriff and corrections offices, release-record sources, New Jersey government portals, federal locators, and third-party search services. After a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy notice and data practices govern that visit. We do not control those outside policies.
Some advertising providers can use their own technology to measure activity across more than one site and select interest-based advertising. That processing takes place through the provider’s systems, not as a separate Union County Released Inmates record.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may nevertheless be handled by:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks serving or measuring ads; and
- law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
We use ordinary administrative and technical safeguards suited to the information handled by the site. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security. Transmission, storage, and third-party systems can fail or be attacked, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information to us, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the requester, a person may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data we hold about that person;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete eligible information; or
- opt out of certain processing where that right applies.
New Jersey OPRA, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., governs access to identifiable government records held by public agencies. It does not turn this private site into the custodian of Union, Essex, court, or NJDOC records.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as services, vendors, or legal duties change. The updated text will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after posting means the revised notice applies to later activity.
